Doris M. Thornell

Doris Mary Corns Thornell, 83, formerly of 2405 Potawatomi Drive, Lafayette, died Friday, Jan. 18, in George Davis Manor. She had been in ill health two years and a resident of the manor for the past 11 months.

She was born near Brookston, May 26, 1907, and graduated from Brookston High School in 1925. She moved from Battle Ground to Lafayette, in 1978. She was mar ried Dec. 31, 1929 to Harold B. "Chunk" Thornell, in Lafayette. He died Jan. 4, 1978. He was a yard foreman for Henry Poor Lumber Co. for 25 years.

Mrs Thornell was a homemaker and she attended the Battle Ground United Methodist Church.  She was a member of Friendship Club.

Surviving are son, Russell W. Thornell, Mesa,Ariz.; a sister, Wanda Corns, Lafayette; and a brother, Leon Corns, Mulberry.

Also two grandchildren survive. Four brothers, 4 sisters preceded in death.

Funeral was Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Hippensteel Chapel, the Rev. Dr. R. Clayton Kendall.
