Lee Dale Thomas, 64, 730 S. Maple St.. Monticello, died Friday, Aug. 19, at Home Hospital, Lafayette. He had been in failing health for several years.
He was born Oct. 1. 1929 to William Robert and Delsi Shipman Thomas in Montmorenci. He married Anita J. Bristow on Dec. 31, 1949 in Lafayette and she survives.
He had lived in the Lafayette and Battle Ground areas for 16 years. He also had lived in the Monticello and Reynolds areas for 20 years.
He was an auctioneer and owned and operated Thomas Auction House in Brookston for several years.
He
had also worked for Hornback-Sickler in Monticello for 10 years. In 1991
he retired as a
jailer
with the White County Sheriffs Dept. after 12 years.
He was a member of the Lake Shafer Christian Center.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, Jeffery L. of Monticello and Shane S. of Logansport; one daughter, Mrs. Harvey (Debra) Weston of Goshen; one brother, Max R. of Lafayette; and nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Three half brothers, three half sisters and one sister are deceased.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 23, at Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Pastor Nate Pyle officiated.
Burial was in IOOF Riverview Cemetery.
