Jessie M. Stockment, 94, Regency Place Nursing Home, formerly of Monticello, died Sunday, June 24, in Home Hospital at Lafayette.

She was born Aug. 3, 1895, to Mr and Mrs William Spencer, in White County. She was married to Wilbert Stockment in Remington. He died in 1958.

She was a graduate of Chalmers High School and Valparaiso University. She taught school in the Demotte community. She lived in Monticello for approximately 20 years before moving to the nursing home 10 years ago.

She and her husband farmed in the Wolcott area for many years.  She was a member of the Meadow Lake Presbyterian Church near  Wolcott and a member of the Wolcott Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs Mildred Headdy, Sarasota, Florida; and Mrs Eileen Marasco, Tenafly, N.J.; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs Elizabeth Lauer, Oroville, Calif., and Mrs Mary Smith, Sacramento, Calif. One son and one daughter are deceased.

The funeral was Wednesday at Stitz Funeral Home in Remington with the Rev Glen Campbell officiating. Burial was at Remington Cemetery.
