Geneva Stewart

Geneva Nelson Hollingsworth Fuller Stewart, 84, Lafayette, died Friday, May 23, at 11:18 a.m. in Regency Place, Lafayette.

She was born July 10, 1912, in Young America, Ind., to Roy and Esta Peters Nelson.  She was married Dec. 18, 1990, to Carroll Stewart, in Lafayette, and he survives.

Her first marriage was to Max Hollingsworth, and he preceded her in death. Her second marriage was to Oakel Fuller in 1962, and he died in 1979.

She moved from Bookston to Lafayette where she had lived for the past 15 years.

She graduated in 1930 from Young America School and attended Indiana University.

She taught in Cass and Howard counties for 30 years.

She was a member of Prairie Extension Homemakers in Brookston.

She attended Congress Street United Methodist Church, Lafayette.

Surviving are five stepchildren, Mary Ferguson, Martinsville; Judy Bartlett, Lafayette; Maurice Fuller, Monticello; Nancy Grider, Lafayette; Lorna Zaloudek, Lindenhurst, Ill.; Nelson Stewart, Avon and Delbert Stewart, North Carolina; two brothers, Ralph and John Nelson, both of Walton; a sister, Helen Creager, Kalamazoo, Mich.; 18 step grandchildren and 20 step great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted Sun., June 1, at 3 p.m. at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston with the Rev. Dale Ferguson officiating. lnurnment will be at a later date in the Center EUB Cemetery in Young America.
