Emerson Snouwaert, 79, Monon, died at 9:35 am. Sunday, January 8, at Jasper County Hospital, Rensselaer.

He was born November 19, 1915 in Odell to Leo and Mary Smith Snouwaert He married Mary Boothsby in Crown Point on September 7, 1937, and she survives.

He was a farmer for 41 years before retiring. He lived most of his life in the Monon community.

He was a 30-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 323, Logansport.

Surviving with his wife are three daughters. Rheta Sue Hutcheson of  Battle Ground, Janet Hoover of Rensselaer, Rose Melton of Monon; one son, Donnie Hall of Chalmers; one brother, Leslie Snouwaert of Attica; one sister, Minnie Snouwaert of Lafayette; five grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren.

Four brothers and five sisters are deceased.

Funeral services were Wednesday morning in Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, the Rev. George Thomson officiated.

Burial following cremation will  be schedule [sic] at a later date.
