Inez J. Sims

lnez Johannah(Meyer) Sims, 87, of Swan Lake Park in North Ft. Myers, Fla., formerly of White County died Wednesday, January 19, 2005, at the Hospice House in Cape Coral, Fla.

She was born July 22, 1917 in Boswell to Fred and Margaret (Lizzy) Meyer II.

She attended the Lutheran and public schools in Reynolds.

Her marriage was to Grover Sims II on August 12, 1968 in Denver, Colorado and he survives.

She was a homemaker and for many years worked as a nurse for Dr. Wayne Houser, M.D. of Monon.

She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds.

She thoroughly enjoyed her family, reading, gardening and bird watching.

Other survivors include a daughter, Donna L. (Bill) Hoover of Lafayette; and two stepsons, Jay (Carla) Sims and Jan Sims of Kokomo; two granddaughters, Shane Renee Griggs and Rhonda Lee Peters; two great-grandchildren, Abbey Peters and Benjamin Griggs; five step-grandchildren, Aaron and Brett Sims, Rebecca and Owen Sims and Jessica (Sims) Dispennett; four step great-grandchildren, Kylee, Alec and Emme Dispenett and Katie Griggs; two nieces, Phyllis Hoover and Jan Sinn, and six nephews, Richard "Dick" Bertram, Dennis Bertram, Lucky and Ron Lashbrook, Larry Meyer and Condo Kessler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Lorene Bertram, Alma Vieregge, Helen Kessler and Una Lashbrook; one brother, Paul Meyer; and a step-daughter Toni Sims.

A private service will be held at a later date.
