Liona Braskie Simmons, 93, died Monday, Jan. 18, at Monticello Healthcare Center.

She was born Aug. 1, 1905, in Floyd County, Virginia.

She had lived in Indiana for 68 years.  She retired from RCA in Monticello in 1967, after working there for 25 years.

Survivors include three sons, Clevie Simmons, Monon; Dale Simmons,Lafayette and Max Simmons, Monticello; a daughter, Sue Heinman, Newtown, Pa., a daughter-in-law, Ellen Simmons, Monticello; eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a grandson, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with the Rev. James R. Copeland officiating.  No visitation scheduled.

Burial will be at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
