Lorene Milliner Simmons, 84, of Monon, died Friday, Sept. 17, at Jasper Co. Hospital.

She was born Aug. 4, 1915, to Lee and Ida Quiggins Ray, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. She was married June 10, 1967, to Clevie Simmons, in Reynolds, and he survives.

She had lived in the White County area most of her life and was a member of the Monon First Baptist Church.

Sheis survived by twodaughters, Mrs Emmert (Oleda) Dennis of Bloomington, Ill., Mrs Scottie (Shirley) Cook of Rensselaer and Mrs Roger (Brenda) Kyburz, Monticello; a stepson, Don (Glenda) Simmons, Monon; two sisters, Velarie Dudgeon and Alene Ray, both of Elizabethtown, Ky.; two brothers, Hubert and Herbert Ray of Big Cliff, Ky.; 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Two sisters, a brother and grandson are deceased.

Funeral service was Monday at Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, with the Rev. Steve Birch officiatmg.

Burial was in Chalmers Cemetery.
