Virginia L. (Lawson) Sheetz

Virginia L (Lawson) Sheetz, 84, Battle Ground, died Sunday, Nov. 23, at Home Hospital, Lafayette.

She had been ill for six months and had been hospitalized for one week.

She was born Aug. 10, 1913, in White County to Harry "Judge" and Nora Belle Hieatt Lawson. She was married June 28, 1938, to Daavid Sheetz, in Benton County, and he survives.

She graduated from New Lisbon High School in Jamestown in 1932.

She owned and operated Florella Flowers in Brookston from 1970-93.

She was a member of the Brookston United Methodist Church.

She helped organize the Brookston Apple-Popcorn Festival held each year.

Surviving with the husband is a son, Dave of Fallbrook, Calif.; two grandsons and a great grandson.

One brother is deceased.

The funeral service was Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997, at Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston.

Burial was in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.
