Thomas C. Sheets, 45, 4774 W. Co. Road 1000 N., the Round Grove Community, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, in Riley Hospital in Indianapolis, following an illness of one year.

Sheets was the Round Grove Township Trustee the past eight years and had been a 4-H Club leader the past 14 years.

He was born Sept. 4, 1942, in Lafayette.  His marriage was to Phyllis J. Bol in Lafayette, on Nov. 29, 1986. She survives.

Mr. Sheets graduated from Wolcott High School in 1960 and attended the Purdue Winter Ag Short Course program.

He was a member of the Badger Grove Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School treasurer.  He also was a member of the Octagon Masonic Lodge.

Surviving with the widow are a daughter, Joy Dexter, Lafayette; two sons, Mike and Mark Dexter, both of Lafayette; his parents, Dale T and Margaret Sheets, Brookston; two sisters, Mrs Rod (Elaine) Nesius of Brookston and Mrs Jan (Jessica) Rule, Elkhart; and two brothers, Randy Sheets, Brookston and Dr. Robin Sheets, Fowler.
