Hazel L. (Woods) Sheets, 51, of West Lafayette, died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.
She was born in Lafayette on Sept. 5, 1949 to Philip L. and Grayce Spurgeon Woods. She married Doug Sheets in the Chalmers Community Church, Chalmers, on June 11, 1972. He survives.
She was a 1967 graduate of Frontier High School and a 1972 graduate of the Purdue University School of Pharmacy.
She was a pharmacist with Wells Yeager Best Drug Store in Brookston for 2 1/2 years and was also a pharmacist at Holden Drugs in Brookston for 19 years.
She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church.
She was a member of Pi Bet Phi sorority at Purdue. She was a pharmacy consultant for Williamson Eye Institute of Lafayette and also a member of the Indiana Pharmacy Association. She served on the Academic Excellence Committee at Benton Central High School.
She loved watching sports (basketball, volleyball and baseball). She enjoyed water sport activity, 4-H and reading.
Her husband; son, Clint Sheets of Indianapolis; her mother, Grayce Spurgeon Woods of Otterbein; a brother, Terry (Louann) Woods of Dayton, Ohio; two nephews, Philip Woods and Evan Witkoske; and a niece, Lauren Woods, survive her.
Her father died in 1072 [sic] and a daughter, Stephanie L/ Sheets, died in 1995.
Funeral services were Sat., Feb 17 at Otterbein United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Gray Hall and the Rev. David Smitley officiating.
Burial was in Montmorenci Cemetery, Montmorenci.
