Lois B. "Dunnie" Schroyer, 74, of West Lafayette, the mother of a Brookston resident, died Thursday, July 19, 2001. She had been in ill health for 2½ years.

She was born in Hanford City, Ind. on June 6, 1927. She married Robert W. Secrest Jr., in Hartford City on June 30, 1946.

Her second marriage was to Edgar C. Schroyer, Jr., on December 31, 1966. He died November 25, 1972.

She had been a resident of Lafayette since 1946.

She was a secretary for the Purdue Athletic Department for over 25 years and retired in 1991.

She enjoyed writing poetry, fishing and Purdue sports.

She is survived by a daughter Jill (Donald) Uselton of Brookston; a brother, Thomas Bowdell of Hartford City; and a sister, Norma Jean "Nean" Overmeyer of Hartford City.

Services were held at Hippensteel Funeral Home, Lafayette on Monday with Pastor Rose Terry officiating.

Entombment was at Tippecanoe Gardens in West Lafayette.
