Edward Robert Schroeder

Edward Robert Schroeder, 102, of Crossville, Tennessee, formerly of Reynolds, died Sunday, October 24, 2004 at Wyndridge Nursing Home in Crossville. He had lived there since October 2000, when he moved to Tennessee to be near his son. He was born at Smithson on October 31, 1901 to J. Herman and Mary (Bernfield) Schroeder. He married Daisy 0. Ballard at St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds in 1926. She died July 28, 1973.

He owned and operated the Smithson Grocery Store.

He ran the Huckster truck, which delivered groceries to homes around the county.

Afterwards he was a farmer.

He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds.

He enjoyed gardening, music and the church Dart Ball League.

Survivors include son, James "Jim" (Carol) Schroeder of Crossville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Daughters, Marilyn Clayton and Darlene Robinson; brother Fred Schroeder and sister Mabel Elmore are deceased.

Funeral services were Saturday, October 30, 2004 at St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds with Rev. Charles Blakey officiating.

Buria1 was in St. James Lutheran Cemetery.

Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home was in charge of the service.
