Mary Ellen Schmierer, 67, Lafayette, died Tuesday, April 12, in Home Hospital, Lafayette.

She was born Sept. 16, 1926, to Edward William and Ella Munn Schmierer, in Lafayette. She was a lifelong resident of Lafayette.

She worked at Home Hospital for 39 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse and also was the supervisor in central supply at the hospital.

She was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ and Home Hospital Alumni Association.

Survivors include two brothers, William and Ronald, both of Brookston; a sister, Mrs James (Martha) Morehouse, Brookston; seven nieces and eight nephews; 17 great-nieces and 15 great nephews; six great-great nieces and three great-great nephews.

The funeral was today at Hippenstell Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Kenneth L. Scherry officiating.

Burial was in Grand View Cemetery, Lafayette.
