Robert J. Schelle, 78, died Monday, April 1, in his at 205 Argold Drive, Brookston, after a lengthy illness.

He was born March 19, 1913, in Lafayette. He was married June 12, 1937, to Kathryn Anthrop in St Boniface Catholic Church in Lafayette. She survives.

He graduated from Brookston High School and attended Purdue University.

He. was a grain and livestock farmer, and retired in 1979. After retiring, he enjoyed rose gardening.

He was a charter member of Blessed Sacrament Church, West Lafayette, and a member of the church's "60 Club." He was a former member of  White Co. Farm Bureau, Catholic Order of Foresters and Grange.

Also surviving are three children: Mrs Mike (Carolyn) Klinker, Manhattan, Kansas; Mrs Leo (Kay) Klemme, West Lafayette and Robert F. Schelle, Lafayette, and two sisters, Mrs Mary E. Todd Brenner, Villa Park, Ill. and Mrs Margaret Oberle, Highland. Eight grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Mass was at noon today, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Father Robert Sell and Father Donald Hardebeck officiating.

Interment at St. Boniface Cemetery.
