Edward C. Sayler

Edward C. Sayler, 74, Monticello, died Thursday, June 25, at Tioga Pines Living Center.  He had been ill several years and seriously ill two years.

He was born in Morocco on April 6, 1918 to James R. and Reva May Atkinson Sayler. On April 8,1943 he married Marjorie E. Trinosky in Crown Point, she survives.

He graduated from Rensselaer High School in 1938 and lived in Rensselaer most of his life. In 1950 he came to Monticello. He was involved in farming most of his life and worked in the steel mills of Gary for five years.

He was a member of the Eagles Lodge of Monon.

Also surviving are four sans, Dale E., Kankakee, IL, James A., Idaville, Fred L., Burnettsville, and John D., Monticello; three daughters, Mrs Charles (Bonnie Jo) Ehrlich, Battle Ground, Mrs Gary (Tressa K) Quasebarth, Burnettsville, Mrs Mark (Taminy L.) Seward, Wolcott; eight sisters, Jean Young, Miami, FL, Jeneva Norris, St. Joseph, MI, Linda Norris, Monticello, Marcella Deno, Monon, Virginia Norris, Santa Monica, CA, Mary Cottrell, Logansport, Beatrice Hardeman and Arlene Hay both of South Bend; four brothers, Tom, Miami, FL, James R, Rensselaer, Verne and Jack, Valparaiso. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; several step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

One sister, brother and one grandson are deceased.

The funeral was Sunday, June 28, at Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, the Rev Alvin Rockey officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery.
