Richard D. Rupel. 66, R.1, Brookston. died Monday, April 11, at home.
He was born Oct. 5. 1927, to Charles C. and Opal Pitt Rupel, in Fort Wayne. He was married June 25, 1983, to Wanda Sue McGhee, and she survives.
He had lived for four years in Brookston and previously had lived in Battle Ground for several years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He worked at Von Tobels and before that he worked as a general contractor, retiring four years ago.
He was a member of 40 and 8, American Legion Post No. 11, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1154, all in Lafayette.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Debbie Nugent, West Lafayette and Bridgette A. Jaecques, Frankfort; one stepdaughter, Kisha Yount, Georgia; a stepson, Keith Yount, Indianapolis; two brothers, Robert L., Brookston and Ronald E., West Lafayette.
The funeral will be today at Hippensteel Funeral Home Chapel, Lafayette, with Rev. Jim Chase officiating.
Burial will be in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
