Vera Scipio Rogers, 85, formerly of R.l, Chalmers, died early Monday, Jan. 23, in Westminster Village, West Lafayette.

She was born Jan. 4, 1904, in Chalmers. She graduated from Tucson High School, Tucson, Arizona and Lafayette Business College. She also attended Indiana University for two years. She formerly lived in Chalmers and Arizona and since 1979 had lived at Westminster Village.

Mrs Rogers was a member of Chalmers Community Church and honorary member of Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority in Chalmers.

She was married Aug. 30, 1926 to George Welch Rogers, in Brookston. He died April 2,1965.

Surviving is a son, Kenneth S. Rogers, Richmond, Va. Also two grandchildren.

Service was today at 11 a.m. in Chalmers Community Church, with the Rev Loren Shurnan officiating.

Hartzler Funeral Home, in Brookston was in charge of the service.

Interment was in Chalmers Community Cemetery.
