Eliza L. Rogers, 84, of Monon, died Saturday, July 8, 2000, at 10:50 a.m. in Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare. She had been a patient at the facility for two years.
She was born Sept. 30, 1915, to John and Harriet Bengston Miller, in Fowler. She was married Jan. 14, 1935, to David Rogers, in Rensselaer. He died Sept. 30, 1970.
She was a 1934 graduate of Francesville High School.
She was a homemaker and worked as a cook at the Monon schools for several years and at RCA in Monticello, retiring after 10 years.
She was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge in Wolcott, the Rebecca Lodge in Monon and the Town & Country Home Economics Club in Monon.
She was a member of the Monon First Baptist Church and the Ann Seany Missionary Circle
She is survived by sons, John (Leona) Rogers of Monon, Richard (Carolyn) Rogers of Brookston and Kenny (Edie) Rogers of Lafayette; brother, George Miller of Medaryville; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A brother and three sisters are deceased.
Funeral service was Tuesday at Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, with the Rev. Steve Birch officiating.
Burial will be in Bedford Cemetery in Moncn.
Memorials may be made to the Monon First Baptist Church or the Monon Public Library.
