Betty E. Robinson, 78, of Brookston died Sunday, February 29, 2004, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.

She was born at Remington on July 28, 1925 to John and Nora Shearer. She married Robert G. "Bob" Robinson at Remington on February 15, 1948. He died August 28, 2003.

She graduated from Remington High School in 1945.

She was a homemaker.

She enjoyed listening to music, especially from the big band era.

She was a member of the Brookston United Methodist Church and Honorary Retired Psi Iota Xi of Brookston.

She was a member of the Eastern Star in Brookston.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include sons, Quentin (Camilla) Robinson of Lafayette and John G. (Missy) Robinson of Lafayette; daughters Shari L. Carter of Lafayette, Mary K. (Dan) Dawson of Round Grove and Jacki A. (Brad) Stockment of Chalmers; brother Thane Shearer of Rensselaer; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Brothers Robert and Max Shearer and a grandson, Nicholas Dawson are deceased.

Visitation is tonight from 4-8 p.m. at Hartzler - Clapper Funeral Home in Brookston. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Jan Dimick officiating.

Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Brookston.
