Wilfred "Willie" J. Rieger, 77, of Monon died Suhday, May 11, 2003, in White County Memorial Hospital. He had been ill for the past year.

He was born in Kentland, Indiana on March 29, 1926 to Fred and Thelma Parr Scholz Rieger. His marriage was to Shirley A. Suter on July 16, 1998 in Little Nashville, Indiana. She survives.

He worked in maintenance at Purdue University for 20 years and was a heavy equipment operator for several years. He also operated a gas station in Battle Ground for 10 years.

He had lived in the Monon community for 43 years.

He was a member of the Monticello Eagles Lodge.

Surviving besides his wife are three stepdaughters: Cindy Dunham, Linda Snow and Bonnie Aills all of Monticello. He had 6 step grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

Funeral services are at 11:00 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon with Rev. Steve Birch officiating. Burial will be in Bedford Cemetery, Monon
