Gertrude "Gertie" Fletcher Riddle, 72, Chalmers, died Saturday, April 6, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. She had been a patient since Jan. 9.
She was born March 15, 1919, to Tobert and Cora Watson Fletcher, in Burkesville, Ky. She was married Oct. 26, 1935, to Orlon Riddle, in Burkesville, Ky. He survives.
She and her husband moved to Otterbein from Kentucky and had lived in Chalmers since 1952.
She worked at the former RCA factory in Monticello, for 15 years and retired in 1981.
She was a member of the Brookston Church of Christ.
Survivors also include three sons, Jesse Riddle, Martinsville; James Harold Riddle, Lafayette and Gary Riddler, Chalmers; a daughter, Mrs. Willard (Shirley) Farmer, Chalmers; a brother, Junior Fletcher, Madison; two sisters, Mrs Ruby Smith, Hanover and Mrs Bee Curtsinger, Fairfield, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Two brothers are deceased.
The funeral was Tuesday in Brookston Church of Christ with Bill Romans and Bill Miller officiating. Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, was in charge of the service.
Burial was in Chalmers Community Cemetery.
