Karen S. Reyling, 47, of Monon died at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 21 at I.U. Med Center in Indianapolis following a 9 month illness.
She was born June 18, 1951 in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, the daughter of Kenneth and Neva Hammond Smith.
She married Charles F. Reyling June 30, 1987 in Nashville, TN.. He survives. The couple moved to Monon in May of 1994. They moved here from St. Anne, IL.
She had worked at Monon Corp for 4 years and had been a union steward there, She worked at Sandbar Restaurant for 1 year and at a Lafayette Shell Convenience Store for 1 year. She had been a licensed Cosmetologist for 25 years.
She graduated from W. A. Hirt High School in Miller, IN in 1969 and the Lafayette Beauty Academy in 1972.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Charles Reyling Jr., Kankakee, IL and Dennis Reyling, Atlanta GA and one niece Robyn Potts at home in Monon. She had 3 grandchildren. One daughter preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at the Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon at 8:00 p.m. Thursday night, September 24 with Rev. Donald Newman officiating. There will be a direct cremation following visitation which will be from 5:00 p.m. Thursday night until the service.
