Connie Jo Ramsey, 69, of Akron, the mother of a Chalmers resident, died Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.

She was a homemaker. She worked with home healthcare and private care and at Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include daughters, Ardella (Charlie) Slavens of Chalmers, Carolyn (Gary Sr.) Gray and Katie (Kenny) Campbell both of Akron, and Joan Rutherford of Logansport; sons Donald (Beth) Ramsey of Rochester, Bill (Sherri) Ramsey of Akron and Jim (Shunda) Ramsey of Orland; a sister, Frankie Sparks of Grandville, Mich; a bother [sic], Stan (Kathy) Singpiel of Wabash and 14 grandchildren.

Sons Tom and Raymond Ramsey; a sister Mary Lou Shelton; and a granddaughter are deceased.

Funeral services were Friday at the Hartzler Funeral Home in Akron with Rev. Steve Fleck officiating. Burial was in Akron Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis or Cystic Fibrosis Society.
