Hugh Gray Ralstin, 60, of Battle Ground died Thursday, May 20, 1999 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He had moved to Battle Ground in 1967 from Syracuse, Kansas, where he grew up.

He was born December 15, 1938 in Walsh, Colorado the son of Freeman and Mary Husky Ralstin.

He married Jeanette Marie McKee on July 19, 1960 in Syracuse, Kansas.  She died August 28, 1987.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956 and in the Naval Reserve from 1958 to 1961.

He was a member of the Battle Ground Town Board from 1978 to 1987 where he served as President from 1980 to 1987. He was a member of the Lafayette Moose Lodge 1528 and Lafayette Order of Eagles.

He is survived by two daugbters, Mrs. Robert (Tina Marie) George of San Jose, California and Rita Marlene Ralstin of Lafayette.

One sister, Maxine Ralstin of Syracuse, Kansas and one brother Clifford Ralstin of Wichita, Kansas also survive along with 2 step grandchildren and I step great grandchild.

Graveside services with military rites were held on Monday at Battle Ground Cemetery in Battle Ground with Rev Tammy Mills officiating.  Hartzler Funeral Home was in charge of the service.
