John L. "Jack" Purdy, 75, of Monticello died Friday, October 7, 2005 at Twin Lakes Village, Monticello.
He was born at Indianapolis on April 11, 1930 to John J. and Dorothy Mundell Purdy, He married Pat A. Jones in Indianapolis on February 7, 1950. She died Nov. 7, 1986. He then married Mary A. Shields Heeter at the Buffalo Christian Church on September 2, 2000. She survives.
He was a veteran of the US Air Force.
Other survivors include a son, Jerry Purdy of Indianapolis; daughters, Patti (John) Manning of Dayton, Ohio and Kathy (Jeff) Ackerman of Buffalo; step-daughters, Deb (Don) Salomon and Donna (Steve) Howard, both of West Lebanon, and Diana (Larry) Sible of Attica; a stepson, David Heeter of Buffalo; a sister, Jane (Edward) Royalty of Buffalo; nine grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.
An infant daughter, Lynn Purdy; three half-sisters; three half-brothers and a sister Martha Shipp, are deceased.
Funeral services were Monday at the Buffalo Christian Church with Gregg Nydegger officiating.
Burial with full military rites were [sic] at the Buffalo Cemetery.
Miller-Roscka Funeral Home was in charge of the services.
