Ruth E. Potts, 76, of Monticello died Saturday, March 3, 2001 at Twin Lakes Village. She had been ill for about six months.

She was born on March 31, 1924, in Sheldon, Illinois to Claude E. and Elizabeth Kane Hogel. She married Raymond B. Potts in Lake Village, He is deceased.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary H. Rinehart, of Monticello; two grandsons, Michael (Michelle "Sam") Rinehart and Phillip L. Rinehart, both of Monticello; three grandchildren, Mary R. Rinehart of Walton, Anjanette Marks of Fort Wayne and Karen (James) Frederick of Lexington, Ky.; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Hogel of Meridian, Miss. and Dan Hogel of Illinois, and a sister, Luella Strole of Rensselaer.

Two brothers and a sister are deceased.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
