Irene Denton Post, 77, Brookston, died Friday, Dec. 17, at Heritage Healthcare in West Lafayette.
She was born May 8, 1922, to Alvin J. and Gertrude Schwartz Denton in Benton County. She was married Jan. 25, 1943, to Raymond F. Post in Chalmers, and he survives.
She graduated from Chalmers High School in 1940 and attended Lafayette Business College.
She moved to Chalmers in 1929 and had lived in Brookston since 1951.
She worked at Stuart Jewelry in Lafayette, ALCOA and retired from Jessup Paper Box in Brookston in 1986, after working there for 21 years.
She was a member of Brookston Federated Church.
She was a member of the Frontier Senior Citizens; Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority in Chalmers; Lafayette AARP; and the West Lafayette Mended Hearts.
She is survived by her husband; son, Terry K. Post of Tulsa, Okla.; daughter, Mrs Charles (Teresa Joy) Garwood, Indianapolis; brothers, Arnold E. Denton of Moorestown. N.J. and Gordon D. Denton of Chalmers; grandsons, Brian Alan, Bradley Andrew and Brandon Keith Post: and a great granddaughter.
Funeral service was Tuesday at Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston. with the Rev. Lelan McReynolds officiating.
Burial was in IOOF Cemetery in Brookston.
