Robert D. Pool, 56, Rt. 4, Monticello, died Monday, March 23, at White Co. Memorial Hospital. He had been ill for one year and seriously ill for three months.
He was born Sept. 23, 1935, to Morris H. and Gladys 0. Martin Pool, in Dana. He was married Aug. 18, 1957, to Mary Jo Heiny in Monticello, and she survives.
He was a 1953 graduate of Monticello High School.
He lived in Monticello, since 1961, and also had lived in the Monon and Wolcott communities.
He served in the Monticello National Guard unit.
He owned and operated Pool Excavating Co. for the last 34 years and was on the company'sbowling team for all 34 years.
He was a member of Monticello United Methodist Church and served on various church committees. He was a member and past master of Libanus Masonic Ledge No. 154 of Monticello. He was also member of the Crystal Chapter No. 165 of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Murat Temple of Indianapolis, In dianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite and White Co. Shrine Club. He was a life member of the American Legion and a life member of the Goodfellows. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge.
Other survivors are his mother, of Monon; three sons, Rodney A. and Bradley S., both of Monticello and Patrick N., Burnettsville; two daughters, Gina Jo and Mrs Jeff (Jill A.) Guingrich, both of Monticello; eight grandchildren; and a brother, James M.,. Monon.
Funeral will be today at 1:30 p.m. with Rev Michael Brown and the Rev Donald Johnson officiating. Voorhis-Draper Funeral was in charge of the service.
Burial will be in IOOF Riverview Cemetery.
