Christine Poindexter, 80, Wolcott, died Sunday, Dec. 25, at 11:15 a.m., soon after attending church in Brookston.

She was born Feb. 28, 1914, to William P. and Savanna Woods, Vernon, Ky. She was married April 5, 1931, to Tim S. Poindexter, who died in 1988.

She attended school in Vernon, Ky. She assisted her son in operating Jim's Gift Shop in Wolcott. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Brookston.

Surviving are four sons, James, Tim L. and Bob, all of Wolcott, and Dick of Lafayette; two daughters, Joyce Bausch, West Lafayette and Carolyn Burrell, Chalmers; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Maud Hamilton, Celina, Tenn., Mary Short, Indianapolis and Evelyn Horton, Brookston.

The funeral was Wednesday in Foster Funeral Home, Wolcott, with Rev. Bill Romans officiating.
