Rita V. Holzman Phillips, 69, Rossville, died Saturday, July 18, at 1:03 p.m. in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. She had been ill for 1 1/2 weeks and had been a patient at St. Vincent since July 14th.
She was born March 10, 1923, to John and Mary Leahy Holzman, in Chicago. She was married July 18, 1963, to Ernest S. Phillips, who survives.
She lived in Lafayette, before moving 30 years ago, to Rossville.
She retired in June 1968, from Arnett Clinic, Lafayette, where she worked as an accounts clerk. She was a veteran of World War II, and served in the Women's Army Corps, Aug 10,1944 to Oct 15. 1946.
She was a member of the Prayer and Praise Center in Rossville.
Also surviving are two daughters; Sharon Kyle, Lafayette and Penny Golden, Rossville; and three grandchildren. A brother is deceased.
The funeral was Tuesday, July 21, in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, the Rev. Daniel Mickschl officiating. Military graveside rites were conducted at Brookston IOOF Cemetery.
