MARVIN D. PEDEN
Marvin D. Peden, 80, Horseshoe Bend, R.2, Brookston, died Sunday, Sept. 4, at 8:27 p.m. in St Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center where he had been a patient since August 30. He had been ill since May.
Mr Peden was a retired maintenance foreman at Fairfield Mf g. Co. where he had been employed 42 years.
He was a lifelong resident of the Lafayette area. He was raised in Lafayette and attended Buck Creek School.
He was born October 28, 1927, in Delphi.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Eagles Lodge 347; Fairfield Athletic Association; and American Legion Post 11.
He was married to W. Jane Shoemaker, Feb. 7, 1948. She survives.
Other survivors include five daughters, Mrs David (Marva) Hurte, Mrs Jim (Connie) Runyan, Janice Burton, Mrs Mark (Jill) DeYoung and Karen Peden; and son, Tony D. Peden, all of Lafayette.
Also surviving are four brothers, Gene J. Peden, Paul 0. Peden, Ray S. Peden and Donald 0. Peden, all of Lafayette; and three sisters, Mrs Donald (Eva) Barrett and Mrs Kenneth (Rosemary) Reuzenaar, both of Lafayette and Mrs Ruth Halsema, Mesa, Ariz., 9 grandchildren.
Service was in Hippensteel Funeral Home, Lafayette, Wednesday, at 1 p.m. with the Rev Bryce Mensink officiating. Interment was in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
