DALLAS E. PAUGH SR.

Dallas Edward Paugh Sr., 64, Brookston, died Friday, Dec. 2 at  12:21 p.m. in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette. He had been in failing health since 1982.

A retired retail grocer, he owned and operated the IGA in Brookston from 1960 until 1963.

He was born March 27, 1924, in Lebanon, and' graduated from New Ross High School in 1942, moving to Brookston in 1960 from Veedersburg.

Mr Paugh was a member of Brookston United Methodist Church; AOPA; Brookston American Legion Post 251; and a charter member of Brookston Optimist Club, formerly serving two terms as president. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was married Dec. 27, 1942, to Angie Lyons Cooksey, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Dallas Paugh Jr.; one daughter, Mrs Roxana McIntosh, both of Brookston, and a sister, Mrs Delores McKinney, Crawfordsville, 4 grandchildren. Two daughters, Karen and Marie Paugh preceded in death.

Service was Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev Gene Ansell officiating.

Interment was in Masonic Cemetery, Crawfordsville.
