Roger "Barney" Duane Patrick, 54, Brookston, died Wednesday, July 7, at the Veteran's Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born Jan. 19, 1945, to Edward and Gladys Dunk Patrick in Tippecanoe County. He was married March 29, 1974, to Ina Kiser, in Monticello, and she survives.
He graduated from Chalmers High School in 1965.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1969 as a Gunner's Mate G in Ordinance Mechanics. He received the National Defense Service medal for serving in Vietnam. He also received two Service Medal Stars and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
He was employed by Dirk and Dad Trucking of Reynolds.
He was a member of the Chalmers American Legion Post No. 268, the Reynolds V.F.W. and the 40 and 8 of Monticello.
He is survived by his wife; his mother, Gladys Patrick of Lafayette; two stepsons, Michael Keeton of Reynolds and Stanley Keeton of Monticello; two stepdaughters; Rebecca Langellier of Reynolds; three sisters, Mary Pemberton of Fairmount, Norma Garriott of Lafayette and Sharon Davis of toney, Ala; eight brothers, Elmer, Ralph, Evan and Roy, all of Lafayette, Kenneth of West Lafayette, Donald of Pahrump, Nev., Homer of Largo, Florida and James of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; and nine stepgrandchildren.
His father and stepdaughter are deceased.
A memorial service for family and friends was Saturday at Chalmers American Legion, with the Rev. Donald Bushong officiating.
Inurnment will be at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the Disabled American Veterans.
Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, was in charge of arrangements.
