Lula G. Parks

Lula G. Parks, 86, formerly of Chalmers, died Friday, June 7, at St. Anthony Healthcare in Lafayette, where she had lived since October 1990.

She was born Feb. 11, 1905, to Othello and Mary "Effie" Wilson Parks, in Scott County. She never married.

She had lived in Chalmers, since 1913, prior to moving to the healthcare center. She graduated in 1923, from Chalmers High School.

She attended Lafayette Business College and worked as a secretary in Chalmers Elementary and High schools, retiring in 1969. She was a member of Chalmers Community Church.

Survivors include two brothers, Merle, Chalmers and Lloyd, Tucson, Arizona; and one sister, Carmen Parks, Chalmers. Three brothers: and two sisters are deceased.

The funeral was Monday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, the Rev. Loran Shuman officiating.

Burial was in Chalmers Community Cemetery.
