Nondis Lovilla Pardue, 57, sister of area residents, passed away October 25 in Shreveport, LA. She was born Sept. 24, 1944, at Francesville, Ind. to Chester and Nondis (Shaffer) Lutes.
She was raised in Monon, where she attended Monon Baptist Church and graduated from Monon High School with the Class of 1962, She attended Secretarial College in Chicago. She married Marvin Pardue, Nov. 11, 1962 and he preceded her in death July 17, 1996.
They had resided in Shreveport since 1977, previously living in Indianapolis, Covington and Greencastle, Indiana.
She had worked for H&R Block, was an avid gardener and enjoyed needlework. She had a great love for children and cared for many in her home through the years.
Three sons survive, Bruce (wife Porntipa) of New Boston, TX; Ronald (wife, Angela) of Shreveport; Brian (wife Twyla) of Shreveport; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her parents and a granddaughter preceded her in death.
A sister survives, Wanda Durham, Mcnon and five brothers, LaVerne Lutes of Linden; Fred Lutes (wife Jan) of Mt. Prospect, IL; Arthur Lutes (wife Eugenia) of Holley. NY; Darryl Lutes (wife Shirley) of West Point and Loren Lutes of Fayetteville, PA. Her Aunt Ardath Owens of Monon, also survives.
Services were held October 30 in Shreveport with Rev. Larry Earl officiating and interment at Rose-Neath Cemetery.
