Eugene "Gene" Page, 81, Francesville, brother of a Monon resident, died Wednesday, April 25 at his residence.
He was born Sept. 24, 1919, to Howard and Marie Waymire Page, in Medaryville. He was married July 19, 1958, to Iris Wright in Jamestown, and she survives.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He served 40 months overseas with 277 days in combat.
He had been a dairy farmer and also farmed and was retired.
He resided 81 years in Francesville.
He was a member of the Society of the 5th Division. He was also a member of the Indiana sheriffs Association.
He is survived by his wife; a son, John (Ruth) Wright of Edmond, Oklahoma; daughters, Karen Wright of Francesville; Linda (John) Fix of Laporte and Pat (Roger) Querry of Edmond, Oklahoma; a brother, Raymond Page, Monon; half-brothers, Ralph Cain and Morris Cain, both of LaPorte; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Three sisters and a half-brother are deceased.
Services were Saturday at the Querry-Ulbricht Funeral Home, Francesville, with pastor Thomas Hoehner officiating.
Burial, with military graveside rites by Jesse Engle Post No. 228 of Francesville were [sic] in Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.
