Eleanor G. Biddle Oilar, 75, Brookston, died Thursday, Jan. 12, at 10:16 in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, where she had been a patient since Monday. She had been in failing health since 1980.
She was born June 25, 1913, to Reason Henry and Frances Dale Watson, in Benton County. She was married Dec. 31, 1939, to Harry F. "Hap" Oilar in Brookston. He survives.
She was a graduate of Brookston High School in 1930.
She had been a bookkeeper for Allen Motor Sales from 1930-47 for G.L. Derharnmer for 10 years and for Farmers State Bank, all at Brookston
She was a member and former treasurer of the Brookston Federated Church, a 42-year member and past president of Psi Iota Xi and a member of Kappa Kappa Sigma at Chalmers and Chapter No. 160 Order of Eastern Star at Monticello.
Surviving with her husband and mother, are one daughter, Mrs Richard (Ann) George, Indianapolis; three brothers, Albert, Jensen Beach, Florida; Reason, West Lafayette and Robert W., Peru; one sister, Mrs Max (Mary) Chamberlain, Wolcott; and three grandchildren.
Her father, one infant son and a brother are deceased.
The funeral was Sunday at 2 p.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev Ralph Smith and the Rev Duncan MacNab officiating.
Burial was in Brookston IOOF Cemetery.
