William D. "Pete" North, 90, Brookston, died August 12, 2003, at Twin Lakes Village.

He was born September 15, 1912, in White County to J. Richard and Ada May North.

He married M. Maxine Clem in Brookston on December 16, 1944 and she survives.

He was a farmer until 1954 when he moved into Brookston from the county. He then worked for the Indiana State Highway Dept. and finally for the White County Highway Department from which he retired in 1977.

He was a member of the Brookston United Methodist Church. He enjoyed Indiana University basketball and gardening.

Other survivors include several nieces and nephews.

A brother, Francis "Cap" North; sisters Helen Taylor and Ruth Brown preceded him in death.

Funeral services were Thursday, August 14, 2003 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Lelan McReynolds officiating.
