William A. "Bill" North, 68, of Lakeland, FL, formerly of Brookston and Wolcott, died Sunday, June 20 in Lakeland.
He was born March 5, 1925 in Lafayette to Melville and Marie Rawels North. He married Fern R, Richardson on July 29, 1944 in Indianapolis.
He was a 1943 graduate of Brookston High School and an Army veteran of World War II.
He moved to Jensen Beach, FL, in 1980, and lived in Lakeland for the last four years.
He was employed by Farmers State Bank of Brookston for 23 years, and for 12 years at the Bank of Wolcott where he was a vice president and director.
He was a member
of the Brookston Federated Church, American Legion Post No. 251 in Brookston,
Libanus Masonic Lodge in Monticello, and the Murat Shrine Temple and Scottish
Rite in
Indianapolis.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, Bill of Glendale Heights, IL, and Gary of Bollingbrook, IL; one daughter, Donna Waymire of Lakeland; one brother, Richard of Indianapolis; one sister, Bernice Hasselburg of Las Vegas; and 8 grandchildren.
Following cremation in Florida, a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Loren Shuman officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.
