Mrs Nanette Edmonds North, of Brookston, Ind., died in her home on Nov. 12, 1988.
She was born in Lafayette, Ind., to Joseph L. Edmonds and Jeanette Teller Edmonds. She was the wife of Mr. Warren North, who preceded her in death.
Mrs North graduated from DePauw University in 1956, with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. For more than thirty years she was a recognized authority in the fashion industry. Because of this, she was the recipient of many national awards, among them the Mademoiselle Merit Award, and was listed in the first publication of Outstanding Women in America. For three years Mrs North was the Fashion Voice for CBS Radio. She was also a member of the Stephens and Columbia Colleges Advisory Boards.
During her marriage with Mr North, she was a Precinct Co Chairman for the White County Democratic Party and a member of the Board of Directors for the Long Center for the Performing Arts.
Surviving family members include her son Richard W. North; two brothers, Joseph L. Edmonds and Rex Teller Edmonds; and two sisters, Sandra Kay Edmonds Cole and Janet Sue Edmonds Holden, as well as nieces and nephews.
Services were Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston with Rev John Howald Jr. officiating.
Burial was at IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
