Flora Victor North, 86, formerly of R.1, Brookston, died Sunday Sept. 18, in Miller's Merry Manor, Garrett. She had moved in with her daughter in 1986, and had lived in the nursing home since March 1988.

She was born April 16, 1903, to Leonidas and Effie Ginn Victor, in Brookston. She was married in 1925, to Minor North in Lafayette. He died in 1956.

She graduated from Brookston High School in 1922.

She retired after working as a secretary at the former Brookston School from 1959 to 1965.

She was a member of Badger Grove Community Baptist Church Merry Workers Sunday school class and Crystal Chapter No. 165, Order of the Eastern Star, Monticello.

Survivors include a daughter; Mrs Don (Karen) Crawford of LaOtto; a sister, Mrs Nellie Shultz, Brookston; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Six brothers are deceased.

The funeral was Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral - Home, Brookston.

Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
