Dean Norman

Dean Norman, 63, of Monon, died Monday, December 16, 2002, in Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare.

He was born April 11, 1939 in Rensselaer, the son of Eldo and Ellen Nightengale Norman.

He was raised in Monon and graduated from Monon High School in 1957.

He is survived by his loving mother, Ellen Norman of Monon; his loving wife of 32 years, Nancy Louise (Viney) Norman of Monon and daughter Laura Norman of Valparaiso, loving sister Sue (Norman) Querry of Riverside, CA; and four children from a previous marriage to Juanita Gutwein: Diana Houston of Monon; Jerry (Tina) Norman of Yorktown, VA; Ken (Kathy) Norman of South Bend and Kelli Norman of Virginia Beach, VA.

He had eight grandchildren: Teresa Houston, Dustin Norman, Jennifer Norman, Phillip Norman, Sarah Norman, Kayla Norman, Kristen, and Cherith Norman. His father, Eldo Norman, preceded him in death.

Dean was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Monon where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Youth Group Leader for many years. He was a light and example of Christ in all.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed and lived life to its fullest. He retired from ALCOA after 27 years of employment retired [sic] in November 2000.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 20, 2002, at the First Baptist Church in Monon at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 19, 2002, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Querry-Ulbricht Funeral Home in Francesville.

Memorials may be made to the Monon EMT's [sic], First Baptist Church of Monon or Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare.
