Glenn Newbold
 

Glenn Newbold, 84, Monon, died Tuesday, May 7, at 2:40 a.m. in Home Hospital, Lafayette. He had been ill for two weeks.

He was born June 24, 1906, to Thomas and Martha Graves Newbold. in Buffalo. He was married Oct. 27, 1934, to Lucille Williams, in Plymouth. She died Dec. 31, 1984.

He lived most of his life in the Monon community and was a 1922 graduate from Monon High School. He was the senior partner in the Newbold and Son Oldsmobile automobile dealership. He had been an Oldsmobile dealer in Monon, since 1948. Previously, he owned and operated a garage at the same location.

He was a member of the North White School Board, for 12 years and a past president of the board, also.

He was a member of the former Monon Presbyterian Church and attended the Monon United Methodist Church. He was a member of the former Bradford Masonic Lodge, Monon Lions Club and Monon Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include a son, Glenn Edward Newbold Jr., Monon; two daughters, Mrs Clarence (Judy) Buman, Lafayette and Mrs Martha Coffman, Franklin; a sister, Maude MacFatridge, Winamac; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  A brother is deceased.

The funeral was today at 11 a.m. in Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, the Rev. John Bell officiating.
