Charles Wayne "Bud" Monnett, 76, Monticello, died Saturday, April 14, in White County Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health for several years and a patient at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare for three weeks.

He was born Sept. 5, 1924, to Charles and Blanche Roudebush Monnett, in Elkhart County. He was married Sept. 29, 1945, to Jean Schwartz in Monticello, and she survives.

He attended Reynolds schools.

He retired from farming in December 1987.

Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Penny Ann (Bryan) Foulks and Dianna (John) Bailey, both of Monticello; a brother, Dick Monnett of Monticello; a sister, Dorothy Hoover of Wabash; and two grandchildren.

A brother, William Monnett is deceased.

Funeral services were today at 10 a.m. in the Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Jan Dimick officiating.

Burial was in Bedford Cemetery, Monon.

Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
