Chester I. Miller, 76, formerly of Buck Creek, died Tuesday, in Bremen Healthcare Center.
He was born October 19, 1917 in Wolcott. He graduated from Wolcott High School and lived in Buck Creek before moving to Bremen in 1992. He married Marie Victor on May 2. 1948, and she survives.
He formerly farmed near Brookston; worked for Purdue University Dairy and retired in 1980 from Borden Dairy in Lafayette.
He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds and was active in Buck Creek Boy Scout Troop 48.
Surviving with his wife are a son, Chet Miller of Bremen; two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Nye of Grand Forks, ND, and Mrs. Marlyn Medley of Riverview, FL; half brother, Willard Miller of Florida; and 2 granddaughters, Katie and Sarah Miller.
A brother, Myron, 4 half brothers and a half sister preceded in death.
Friends may call at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, from 4-8 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held in St. James Lutheran church, Reynolds; at 10:30 a.m. Friday, with Pastor Stephen Koenig officiating. The body will lie in state at the church 1 hour before the service.
Memorials can be made to St. James Lutheran Church, Reynolds, or St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bremen.
Burial will be in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.
