Virgil Robert Meyer, 66, Reynolds, died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 11, at 10:50 a.m. in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
He was
born Nov. 27, 1924, to Charles and Elizabeth Harris Meyer, in Wolcott.
He was married
Sept.
24, 1944, to Rosemary L. Farmer, in Reynolds, who survives.
He spent most of his life in Reynolds and attended Lake Shafer Christian Center, Monticello. He retired from RCA in Monticello, 1982, after 28 years of service.
He was a member of the Reynolds Town Board and Volunteer Fire Department for many years and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Also, surviving are three sons: Robert V., Brookston; Jeffrey D., Forest, Va., and Raymond C., San Pierre; three daughters: Karen S. Cowger, Linda L. Carter and Denise J. Brown, all of Monticello; a brother, Donald, Reynolds; and 16 grandchildren. A brother is deceased.
Services were conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home, Monticello, with Pastor Nate Pyle officiating.
Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, where military graveside rites were conducted.
