Marvin R. Meyer, 80, of Palmetto, Florida and a former local resident died Monday, November 25, 2002, at his residence.

He was born on September 22, 1922, in Wolcott, to Dietrich H. and Sophia Gronwald Meyer. He married Betty M. Moore on February 25, 4945, at St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds. She survives.

He attended school in Wolcott.

He lived in Florida for the past 17 years after moving from the Buffalo/Sitka area, where he was a farmer.

He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Bradenton, Fla., and was a former member of St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds.

Surviving with his wife are sons, David Meyer of Matoon, Ill., and Roger Meyer of Buffalo; daughter, Sharon Clark of Shelbyville; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Two brothers and a sister are deceased.

Funeral services were Saturday at St. James Lutheran Church with Pastor Charles Blakey officiating.

Burial was in St James Lutheran Cemetery, Reynolds.
