Thomas Ward Metcalf, 82, Lafayette, died Tuesday, June 7, in the emergency room of Home Hospital, Lafayette.

He was born March 27, 1912 in Chalmers to Charles A. and Grace Ward Metcalf. He married Marie Burget in Indianapolis on July 3, 1936, and she survives.

He was a 1930 graduate of Chalmers High School.

He retired from ALCOA in 1972 after 33 years of employment in various management positions.

He was a member of Congress Street United Methodist Church, Lafayette, the ALCOA 25 Year
Retirees Club, Masonic Lodge F & AM, Tippecanoe Masonic Lodge No. 492 and AARP.

Surviving with his wife are one son, Garry W. of Overland Park, KS; one brother, Charles W. of Lafayette; and three grandsons.

Two brothers are deceased.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 10, in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, the Rev. Ronald Harshman officiated.

Burial was in Chalmers Community Cemetery.
