Marie (Burget) Metcalf, 85, formerly Lafayette, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 5:10 p.m. in George Davis Manor, West Lafayette. She had been a resident at George David Manor since February.

She was born in Chalmers, March 27, 1913, to Murrell and Bessie Trostle Burget She was married July 3, 1936, to Thomas W. Metcalf, in Indianapolis, and he died June 7, 1994.

She graduated from Chalmers High School in 1932.

She had been employed at Loeb's Department Store, formerly in Lafayette.

She was a member of the Congress Street United Methddist Church.

She is survived by a son, Garry of Overland Park, Kansas; a brother, Dean Burget, Brookston and three grandsons.

A sister and two brothers are deceased.

Funeral services were Monday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Jan Dimick officiating

Burial was in Chalmers Community Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the American Lung Association.
